This course discusses the structure of corporate governance for Islamic Financial Institutions, including how the company should comply with Islamic principles in every aspects of its business process. This course addresses commercial Islamic Financial Institutions only, not covers the not-for-profit Islamic Financial Institutions.
Main topics: 1) Structure of Board Governance in Islamic Private Sector (commissioners, directors, shariah supervisory board, and other organ of corporate governance) 2) Board Accountability 3) Internal Auditor and Internal Control 4) Shareholders and Ownership 5) External Governance Mechanisms 6) Standard on Governance for Commercial Islamic Entity 7) Framework for Sharia Compliance
Requirements
Participant is preferable to have basic knowledge in business
Who need this course?
Both students and/or general public that are interested in corporate governance, especially governance for Islamic Financial Institutions. This course covers Indonesian as well as global audience as this course are general knowledge, not focusing on Indonesia in areas.
The scope of study materials:
These topics basically applicable for general corporate governance principles, Islamic corporate governance adds some other principles and mechanism to make sure that it also complies with shariah principles.
Learning Objectives:
1) able to explain principles of good governance, including the rights and responsibilities of owners, investors, and those charged with governance;
2) able to describe the components of an organization’s governance framework (commissioners, directors, and shariah supervisory board);
3) able to analyze Islamic CG principles such as shareholder rights, equitable treatment of shareholders, roles and responsibilities of the Board, and disclosures and transparency
Preferable to have basic knowledge in business
This course is a
- non-credit course
- fully self-paced, so participant can set their own time in their most convenience time within the course time period.
- consist of 7 sections @3 subsection in every section
Sertificate is provided if the participant access all the materials and do all the quizzes in every subsection with 70 marks out of 100.
